Hey guys and gals, come play with us Saturday afternoon/evening. Try out
the NA Sprint that’s 4 hours long and because of the format, gives
everyone a chance to be the CQing station and then afterwards, do some S
& P. The Sprint starts at 2300z for 4 hours, ending promptly at 0300z
Saturday evening.

Lots of CWops take part in the fun. If you haven’t tried it yet, jump
in, at least for an hour or two.

A couple of notes about Sprint operating practices...

1) Please acknowledge each contact with more than a "dit" - often lost
in the scrum, that dit might get snipped by your amplifier, the other
station's turnaround delay, or by noise.  The Management recommends "R"
or "X" (short for the already shortened TU).

2) There is that pesky move one whole kHz between QSOs rule. (and 5 kHz
to call CQ)  In the heat of battle, that's easy to forget, so practice
turning the Big Knob (or whatever) to move all the way.

If you are new to sprinting, why not read Jim George, N3BB's article
posted on the NCJ NA Sprint website at
ncjweb.com/sprint-scores/CW-Sprinting-N3BB.pdf
<http://ncjweb.com/sprint-scores/CW-Sprinting-N3BB.pdf>.  It explains a
number of things about Sprint, especially that convention of when to
send your call sign during the exchange!

Or just call CQ NA and work a station. Then move 5 Khz up or down and
call CQ again.  Only 3 bands are used: 20, 40, and 80.I look forward to
seeing lots of my CWops friends Saturday at 2300z.

73,

Art KZ5D
