Hello all,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news - I got an early call this morning
regarding the status of the health of my dearest friend Reinaldo YV5AM
(YV5AMH) - he went quickly into Hospice, and now he is at the heaven gates
trying to see where he can get on the air. As some of you know, Reinaldo
was the past president of the IARU Region II, as well as a long  Diplomat
for Venezuela, having served as Ambassador or consul  to many counties such
as LU, W, ON, HV, OH and many others. He was also one of my Elmers, and
part of the first Generation of licenses YV hams.

I always loved to hear his stories with world leaders, including how he got
the Pope to actually get him to operate from HV hi hi, as well as funny
moments with Carlos Menem (former President of LU and also a ham); We
operated together from a few expeditions including YV0 in 1992, also shared
many rooms in Dayton.

Another of the good ones gone,
