Good Day All,
When either band is open, I usually move up 5 KC look for an open frequency to call CQ. Or hunt and pouch up and down the band.
A lot easier with the new rigs with band scopes. (we really did have to hunt!)
I will be on 6 meter and 2 meter SSB from Monroe County as able. (heavy work commitments)

Subject: [SFDXA] Making contest contacts on VHF/UHF calling frequencies?
There's been some discussion about whether or not one can make contest contacts on VHF/UHF calling frequencies.
This seems to be something everyone knows but is not codified anywhere (at least that I can find).
The VHF contest and FD rules do not state this.
I found General Rules for ARRL Contests Above 50 MHz, which we should all read in addition too the VHF and FD rules
1.12. Participants are reminded that the segment 50.100-50.125 MHz should be used for intercontinental QSOs only, using 50.125 MHz as a calling frequency, then QSY after contact is established.
Applying this to 2m, we can call on the calling frequency and then QSY.
There is a restriction on using repeaters.
I plan to operate this weekend's VHF contest and will be operating 2m FM and SSB as well as 6m all modes.
I don't want to have my contacts disqualified if I call and then QSY, I do not want to have people chiding me on the air nor do I want to get a reputation as a LID.
What I want is to understand the rules and operate accordingly.
Your thoughts?
