Hi Randy and everyone else,
The DCARC has been having our meetings on the air and for members who do
not have a radio, we are streaming on YouTube.
We also stream our weekly 2m net.
To my knowledge this has been going well, I have not had any complaint's
from the members. Maybe I should ask.
Bruce W4BAE has been using a SDR to capture the audio and stream to
YouTube. He created a permanent YouTube account for us, I post the URL
on our web site and on groups.io. Being permanent, we can use it at any
time, not just for meetings and the net. We could easily use it for
board meetings.
The down side to streaming is that Bruce cannot transmit since his
antenna is used for the SDR. He has been working on a solution.
That would be solved by having the stream originate from the club
station which has access to the repeater.
If we have a presentation or want to make material viewable by the
members, I would post it on our web site in PDF so everyone can follow
along.
Personally, I vote for on-the-air meetings while we have COVID, we are
after all, a radio club.
