*A SLOW-MOTION SOLAR FLARE AND CME:* A solar flare surprised forecasters 
yesterday when it slowly exploded from a spotless region in the sun's 
southern hemisphere. The flare sent a shock wave rippling through the 
sun's atmosphere and hurled a CME into space. NOAA analysts say the CME 
could deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on Aug. 20th.
