Good work with the math, Kai. I am grateful for LOTW because it saves a lot
of money on postage for me and often provides much faster gratification than
the old banana boat/Pony Express method. However, I do still like to
receive paper cards. Received an envelope from the bureau this morning.
Looking forward to opening it this evening during Happy Hour!! 73, John

Hi John,
We can check that from the LOTW intro page. The average QSL rate is twice
the "QSL records have resulted. divided by "QSO records have been entered
into the system.", which works out to about 34%. So the average QSL rate for
LOTW users is 34%. In an older analysis, I convinced my self that the
number of uploaded errors in the system was around 10-12%, so the actual
rate would be around 38 to 39%.
Divide that 0.38 into the 86470 users of LOTW and you get 228,000 hams that
participate in the things that LOTW users like to do (except a lot of them
don't QSL!!).
