Many of you probably either took part in working the DX station K1N or monitored others calling them. We saw this posted on the Daily DX cluster as the DXpedition began! I hope you all had a chance to work them.
“In other news, I see the Centers for Disease Control is expecting a major outbreak of the Navassa Island flu of type K1N to peak on 11 or 12 February. Indications are it is highly contagious, spreading easily by word of mouth and appearing in clusters. While showing a nearly instantaneous incubation period and expected to attain high morbidity (especially during the work week), full recovery is expected following the positive administration of OQRS vaccine. A negative OQRS result may be expected to result in a slow and painful recovery, expected to last until the next outbreak, possibly in 10 years.”
