Steve,
This article is on my web page and also on the SFDXA web pages (see club
projects or presentations area).
You can make the 160 Meter Receive antenna out of RG-58, RG-8 or RG-213 or
1/2" or 7/8" Hardline. 20 Feet is all that is needed, a support of PVC
pipe, a 50-400 pF ceramic compression type capacitor and a little box in
which to keep it out of the weather. Some way to connect the two ends of
the loop to the coax is all that is needed... You will see my solution in
the photos.
You can also make a similar antenna for 80 Meters with 10 feet of coax and a
similar configuration.
Go TO: http://www.n8pr.org/low_band_loop.htm
You can make it in an hour or less if you have all the parts.
This antenna was used when I took No 1 in the world in the ARRL DX contest
from the Bahamas, and I did not even rotate it there. It is not as good as
a beverage or Waller Flag, but it hears well, and there is a deep null
broadside to the loop if you need to get rid of a specific noise.

Ok... now that we have winter here, the 160 inv L is up and rocking!
downside, it picks a ton of noise. Looking for suggestion on a rx loop
antenna design for 160... any suggestions?
Thanks
