Tour de Cure Sun Nov 23rd - COMMUNICATORS NEEDED in both Miami-DADE Broward And Delray Beach





 

Attention Miami-Dade, Broward and Delray Beach Hams. We need Amateur radio operators to serve as communicators for Rest Stops along the route, and one operator for the Start/Finish Line. See the locations below.

 

The annual Tour de Cure Bike Ride to benefit the American Diabetes association is fast approaching.

 

This year, the Miami-Dade and Broward rides have been combined into one ride which will happen in Sunday, November 23rd. The Start Finish/Line will be Halouver Park in North Miami Beach, and the routes will extend North and South Downtown Miami to Delray Beach and back to Haulover Park. 

In Broward County, there are three rest stops where we will need four hams to cover Broward County and two to cover the Delray Beach location.  In Dade County we will need another six hams for those rest stops in Miami-Dade County. 

 

We are also looking for a tail end ham to drive the entire route of the 100 mile ride following the start of the 100 mile riders and tail the last person back to the start/finish line.

 

This is an easy paced, relaxed back to event and serves a great opportunity for both seasoned hams, as well as new hams looking to participate in public service events.
