Amateur Radio Communicators Wanted
The American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure held on Sunday,
February 9, 2014
This Event Requires an HT or possibly a mobile transceiver, spare Battery
and an external antenna. If you are a new ham or have never worked a
communications event, tell me and I will put you with a seasoned ham to
learn the ropes. Please announce this information on your nets and to your
club members. We are less than a month away from this event.
Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. It's a life-changing
event. A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join
forces in the fight to Stop DiabetesR and raise critical funds for diabetes
research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes
Association.
The rides are:
Route Length 100 mile 62 mile
30 mile 5k and 10k
Check-In Time 6:00 AM 7:00 AM
8:00AM 9:00 AM
Start Time 7:00 AM 8:00 AM
9:00 AM 10:00 AM
Start and Finish Line are the Coral Springs Sports Complex.
We will also cover as many as 10 rest stops throughout Broward County. I
will contact you when they are finalized. Please, when volunteering for this
event, please send me your name, callsign and cell phone number in your
email so I can call you back.
