Hi Everyone
I am the new kid on the block and would like to introduce myself. I am Larry Ryan - AA1EE originally from Boston (thus the 1 in the call sign) but have been here in Florida since 2000. The reason I am excited about getting back into DXing and getting in touch with your club and members is that I just moved from a Condo in Boca Raton to a House in Delray Beach with (((NO HOA’S))). I love my little ham shack and I have a Hexbeam about 65 feet in the air with a Icom-7100 transceiver and a Tokyo FX-HL1.5KFX driving it up to 1000 watts with an Tokyo HC-1500AT keeping it in tune. I have and Icom-2820h and a Icom-92AD-HT for the local connections and d-star that feeds through a Comet-15 about 60 feet in the air.
I want to start getting my CW back on speed and I need a new Keyer. If money wasn’t a factor what Keyer would be number #1 on your list. It’s my 60th Birthday Monday the 24th and I want to splurge. I know I have a lot of work to do to get my speed back up but it’s worth it. I probably would have a tough time passing my Novice CW test again if I had to at 5 wpm never mind general at 13 wpm or Extra at 20 wpm.
Again Hello and I will meet you all (or whomever is there) at the meeting March 5th.
Thank You
Larry Ryan - AA1EE
