[SFDXA] Line/XFMR Noise

Hello Dave,

I have had numerous issues with FP&L over the years while in my Pompano
QTH, particularly after hurricane Wilma and other assorted tropical
storms, although prolonged dry spells also caused noise problems. By
and large these were isolated to arcing insulators and a loose clamps
from the transformers to the lines. You can get on FP&L's web site and
fill out the form for RFI problems. List the bands involved, time of
day, etc. It is self explanatory. You will get a call from one of the
guys from the division that handles these complaints, ( the RF shop)
probably our own guy, Orlando, who is also a ham and is very sharp.
They have a 20 day window to get the problem resolved so patience is
required. I have found FP&L very helpful, especially in recent years as
compared to the day when the guy came over with a hand held AM BC radio
and roamed around the neighborhood. Good luck!
