Solar activity is very high. Two X-class flares have been observed in a
new region on the east limb at N12, an X2.8 at 15:48 UT and an X1.7 at
01:53 UT today. Three M-class flares and numerous C-class events have
been seen in this region today. This region is too close to the
limb at this time to observe the magnetic classification. Several large
negative polarity spots and one positive polarity spot are visible, so
the class is likely beta-gamma at least. Further X-class flares are
possible, and M-class flares are expected.
Unnumbered region, N12 E85 (X=-926,Y= 201).
Position as of May 13, 2013 at 13:00 UT.
