December 2011 transatlantic California Near Space Project balloon 
flight, the team tried to beat their record with a second launch this 
past December. Thinking that it was not recoverable, they were surprised 
to hear from Patrick Marteau, CN2GW/F1GXW, who let them know that he and 
his team recovered the payload. His story follows Ferguson's. Also in
