2013 MIAMI HAMFEST TROPICAL HAMBOREE TO TAKE PLACE ON FEBRUARY 1 & 2


Miami, FL, Jan 7, 2013.- The 47th Miami Tropical Hamboree, a trade show 
and exhibition event focused on: Ham Radio, Electronics and other 
technology oriented hobbies will be held at the Miami-Dade Fair Expo 
Center on: Friday February 1st and Saturday February 2nd.


The Miami Hamfest offers the opportunity to learn about Amateur Radio 
communications and related technologies as well as a chance buy and sell 
all sorts of gadgets, radio gear, computer parts and software. A 
multitude of vendors will be offering items ranging from antique radios 
to the latest in military surplus. This event is also a meeting ground 
for amateur radio operators all over.


"We are pleased to bring back this event to its original venue and to 
invite the community at large to learn more about the role that Amateur 
Radio operations play during natural disasters" said Miguel Garate, 
president of the Dade Radio Club of Miami.


There will be amateur radio stations setup on the grounds. Come take a 
look, ask questions, and even get on the microphone with the help of one 
of our licensed operators.


For individuals wishing to receive their F.C.C. amateur radio license, 
exams will be offered onsite Saturday at 8am.


Tickets are $12.00. Students under 18 will be admitted for free. See
