The Sun's magnetic field is about to flip:

http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2013/05aug_fieldflip/

It flips to the same polarity once every 22 years, so that makes it a 1/22yrs =
1.4 nanoHz oscillator.
Driven by its 4 x 10^26 watts output, that is one really BIG beacon!

To DXers, the polarity flip signals the arrival of the sun spot maximum.

To antenna guys, the Sun's diameter is just 6.7 nanoWavelengths at 1.4 nanoHz,
which makes it an electrically VERY small antenna!
