LIVELONG BENEFITING LIVESTRONG Event. Ham Radio Operators needed. I
only have four operators and I need 22 to make this event successful.
The event is on October 14th and the ride begins and end at Gulfstream
Park in Hallandale Beach. The bike ride begins at 7:00 but we need the
HAM operators to be there (or at their rest stop) no later than at 5:45
am. We expect all riders to be finished and the course to be shut down
approximately 1:00pm.
We will need a ham with each of the sag vehicles (between 7 to 10
operators). We will have 2 net control operators, and 4 rest stops with
a single ham at each. We will also need 3 hams to be put with 3 EMT's
that will be somewhere on the course.
I am looking for a total of 22 hams for this event. Please contact
Robin/N4HHP at 954 249-5343 to volunteer. Please note, that the a
majority of hams will be placed in sag vehicles or with EMS starting at
the Start/finish. You will need to have an HT, with a minimum of 2 ½
watts out, a spare battery or a cigarette lighter plug to power your
radio, and an external antenna to work this event from these vehicles.
