All,

I apologize for the late notice, but we're going to have an antenna party at K4FK tomorrow morning at 9 AM. Tasks are:

1. Rebuild the 40/30m inverted-Vees with Wireman copper wire and UV-resistant Dacron rope, and re-hoist them with the pulley system on the South Tower (the @#$%&* Flex-Weave(tm) wire has broken and the support ropes rotted); and
2. Investigate the 160/80m inverted-Vees on the North Tower, try to figure out why the SWR is so high on those bands - and fix it.

Most of the work in Task 1 will be off the roof (measuring and cutting the dipoles to length, assembling the inverted-Vees together) and even hoisting the center and tying the ends off can be done from the roof, without climbing the tower itself - assuming we can re-string the pulley from the roof.

All are welcome to attend - this is an especially good Antenna Party to attend if you've never built dipole antennas before. You'll be an expert when we're done! :)

BTW, the one thing I would like to add to the 40/30m inverted-Vees, that we do not have at the moment, is a balun - at present there isn't one, and I'm suspicious that common-mode currents may be contributing to the noise problem we now have. Would someone have a 1500 W balun they would like to donate to a worthy cause?
