Yesterday morning AA5DX (ex WN8BTU/WB8BTU, KG5EY), Ronald P. Marra,
was found dead in his home by his mother.  The police are
investigating.  Ron was 57 and survived by two teenage boys and his
cousin NE8Z, Rick Dorsch.  He was a well-known and liked DXer and
Contester and a member of FOC.  At the age of 13 he was first
licensed and became a “spectacular CW operator” thanks to his Elmer
W8WA (ex W8ROF), Lee Ewald.  Ron as a former president of the Lone
Star DX Association.  Over the years Ron operated from such DX
locations as FP0BT, ZA/AA5DX, VQ9DX, J79RM, YB9/AA5DX, and AA5DX/MM. 
Ron’s “key is now silent and he will be dearly missed” says Rick.
