I saw the show and what is somewhat crazy is the idea that people can genuinely prepare for a total melt down of society in America. To be able to construct a place and stock it and maintain it in the gun culture of Am is, beyond the period of two years max... I think impossible. Electric means gasoline... gone because of storage... even with a huge tank, todays gas goes bad chemically in a short time.Food means raising it and on open land, and there is no way to defend an space large enuf to raise crops ... four people need less land but can not stay awake long enuf to shoot intruders, etc. A dozen people increases the defense team but raises the area of land needed. Hydroponics mean pumps... se electric above, hee hee. If your selected place is really remote, that just means it is so undesirable no one considers it... too cold, too hot, no water, too much , too little, etc. I participated in a three day fallout shelter test with five hundred people ...each with a space of two feet by five feet... and can tell u that is not the answer. Basically it is Bye bye Apple Pie.
