As many of you are aware, the amateur radio hobby has been under attack by one
form of restriction or another over the preceding years. HOA's and restrictive
covenants being the most intrusive and restrictive, but in addition our spectrum
is also coveted my many. Supporting the ARRL Spectrum fund is important for our
future.
It is very pleasing to see some effort now in congress to protect our rights as
amateurs to pursue our hobby where we live. The information below describes the
House of Representatives Bill that needs support from your representative to
strengthen it with regard to antennas and support structures. Please down load
the letter from Representative Finer, and prepare your own request for support
to your congressman or woman.
Give your congressman a reason to support the bill, by outlining the service
provided in case of need, as apposed to only benefiting the ham operator.
Those of us in Florida and coastal United States should emphasize the
contribution that amateurs have made and will continue to make in times of major
weather disasters. Remind them again that it was 'ham radio' that provided
communications in many of the areas hit by hurricane Irene. Power, landlines
and cellular systems were all lost, but Ham Radio did again provide basic
emergency communications. Floods, Hurricanes, Tornadoes and Earthquake disaster
communication loss has many times been supplemented by dedicated amateur radio
operators. That contribution is reason that hams should be allowed reasonable
antennas and support systems.
-----------------------------------------------
Hi all,
Please pass it along to our fellow ham radio operators and ask them to support
this bill by writing or emailing your respective representatives.
I AM ASKING A FAVOR to my fellow ham radio operators. Please write or email
your senators and congressman and congresswoman and appeal to them to support HR
81 Bill to pass.... to reach out the cc&r issue thus create a check and balance
of the law and eliminate non-sense litigation and legal fee's....thus prevent
unlawful law suit with no basis...... against ham operators because there is a
loophole in the system that need fixing and solution asap also prevent more good
station to get shut down due to this loophole in the system.
under section 3, 3 (b) make a recommendation whether that section should be
modified to prevent unreasonable private land use restrictions that impair the
ability of an amateur radio operator licensed by the FCC to conducts, preprare
to conduct, emergency communications by means of effective outdoor antennas and
support structures at reasonable heights, dimensions (i dont agree on the word
dimension for the record only but better than nothing) for the purpose, in the
residential areas.
let us fight for our bundle of rights and constitutional rights to enjoy our
property and hobby.
i did email
Senator Joe Lieberman (CT)
Senator Susan Collins (Maine)
Congressman Bob Filner (D-CA)
Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)
Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA)
Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-CA)
congressman thaddeus mccotter (d-tx) the more support we gathered to get this
bill going and hopefully it will pass and make it into law.
again Please dissiminate to all ham radio operators that you know and encourage
them to right their representatives.
let us join forces and be heard..
so far we have an OTARD, AB104, AB1128 (CA) and amateur radio preemption 101 fcc
2d 952 (1985) but non to protect us from unlawfully use of an old tactic CC&R
issue. for i am currently being bully by a difficult neighbor based on CC&r
issue , dont just give up your rights and your hobby. Make an educational
decision and good reseach then make a decision based on facts. On
this scenario, we dont have HOA and an old cc&r for the community that was never
implemented for over 32 years and the community chg throught the years. plus i
do have a building permit to erect antenna structure support under permit
process I from City of San Diego CA.
By having this Bill, we should have leverage in the court room against difficult
people.
Thank you and I highly appreciate on your POSITIVE ACTION AND YOUR SUPPORT!!!!
on this matter.
