[SFDXA] Dinner and Speaker Meeting

Many SFDXA members will remember the lengthy, multi-country DXpeditions 
of Vladimir Bykov, UA4WHX. Vlad has activated more than 40 countries. 
Some of these countries quite rare. The DXpeditions began in 2002. When 
the expeditions were concluded Viad went through two radios, lost a 
finger and traveled to 21 countries in 26 months and completed over 
310,000 QSOs’. Many DXers enjoyed the new contacts.


Vlad will be in the US in October. The SFDXA has arranged a dinner for 
him on SATURDAY, 8 October, at 7 PM. The dinner will be in a private 
room at Vignetos Italian Grill, 1663 S University Dr, Plantation Click

Following dinner, Vlad will make a presentation describing his many

At 5:30 PM in the private dinning room at the Restaurant SFDXA will 
conduct an amateur radio license testing session for the wife of 
Vladimir Bykov, UA4WHX. She will be taking the Technician test. Irwin, 
N4IEW, Extra Class will be the VEC, Kai, KE4PT, Extra Class and Chuck. 
W4ROA, Extra Class will be the VE’s. The testing session will take 
approximately one hour or less. Contact Irwin Wallace, N4IEW at

Future SFDXA License Testing Capability.
A VE Pool will be established. Extra class license holders preferred. 
General Class license holders can only test for Technician. Test 
sessions will be scheduled and conducted as and where needed. There will 
not be any drop-in testing.
