Hi Bill,
Here is the latest status report on Kenwood. As their manufacturing
facilities are in Malaysia and Singapore, they dodged the bullet.

From the Icom List:
Adam's comments on the Major Manufacturers of Ham Gear.
Hi Al,
Icom's factories are in Wakayama, 100 km SW of Osaka. Their corporate HQ is
in Osaka. Both cities are in the Kansai region (southern Japan), which was
unaffected.
Icom's Tokyo office sustained some damage, and their Sendai office was
severely damaged. All their employees are OK, but some of the Sendai staff
had difficulty contacting their families.
I am not sure about Kenwood. Much of their manufacturing is outside Japan
(e.g. Singapore), so they will be able to keep products in the pipeline - as
long as they can still procure parts from their suppliers in Japan.

Good to know. That puts Yaesu's situation is better light. That's far more
newsworthy than idle speculation. Now, what about Icom and Kenwood?
