The Central Florida D-Star Group’s D-Starter Academy reservations are coming in
fast so if you are planning to attend get your reservations in now because the
limited space is filling up.The D-Starters Academy will be held on July 30, 2011
at Lake Receptions in Mount Dora, Florida.
An informal get together will take place at the Eustis Comfort Inn’s meeting
room on Friday night July 29, 2011 at 6:30 PM.

more advanced operators. Look at our web site to determine which of the several
tutorials we are offering will best fit your needs to better understand this
exciting new mode .
There will be demonstrations using the current D-Star radios, the use of high
speed data communications and a SysOp seminar for more advanced operators. There
will be time to network with experts to learn about new software and repeater
management.
For emergency management people, public safety personnel and ARES operators
presenters will also report on how D-Star equipment was used during the Spring
Tornado outbreaks in the South East part of the country this year.
Ray Novack, National Amateur Marketing Manager for ICOM America will be there to
show the latest D-Star equipment in operation and he will be providing the GRAND
PRIZE of an IC-80 AD hand - held with the attached HM-168 GPS speaker
microphone.
Cost for this event is $ 35.00 for a discounted advance registration that will
include lunch and refreshments during the day. We will accept cash or checks at
the door on that Saturday but the price then will be $ 45.00 and no lunch will
be provided.
