Some Notes from the ARRL DXCC Desk

/By Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL Awards Branch Manager/

As we enter the fourth quarter of the 2010 DXCC calendar, I would like
to remind everyone that the deadline for the 2010 DXCC calendar year is
December 31, 2010. This deadline includes submissions for The 2010
Annual List (Published in the DXCC yearbook) and The 2010 Honor Roll
List (scheduled for August 2011 /QST/).

Applications must be /postmarked/ by December 31, 2010. It is strongly
recommended that you do not wait until the last moment to get your
submission in, however.

Please be sure to check the DXCC Applications Received
<http://www.arrl.org/dxcc-applications-received> page on the DXCC Web
site. (If your call sign appears there, your application has been logged
into the DXCC computer. This may not be the exact date noted on a
registered mail tracking receipt confirmation, since during heavy mail
periods several days can pass before an application is actually logged
into DXCC.)

If at the end of the year the date logged is after December 31 and this
is not your intended submission date, you will need to correct the date
quickly. Otherwise, the date noted on the list is the date your
submission will be credited, even if it is 2011. If the date is not
correct, this can still be fixed if you contact me by January 31, 2011.

The 2010 DXCC Yearbook is scheduled for release in the spring of 2011.
In order to ensure that you receive your free copy, you must:

1) Be a member of ARRL

2a) Make a submission to the DXCC desk within the 2010 calendar year

or

2b) Be current on the DXCC Honor Roll. If you are on the DXCC Honor
Roll, but do not make a submission during the 2010 calendar year, you
automatically qualify for the free copy.

If you do not qualify for a free copy, you can purchase this and past
yearbooks for $8 each.

Please send any questions to dxcc at arrl.org <mailto:dxcc at arrl.org>.
