To SFDXA members,
I am in the process of updating our web site and the membership list. Checking the member page on our web site, you will note that a few of our members have furnished me pictures of their shack and antennas and I have created a personal web page for those members.
I would like to add more of our DXer members to our web site, and in addition to the pictures more details on your station and equipment could be included. Besides sending the digital pictures of the shack and antenna, you can include your QSL card as well, also a brief write up about your station or DX accomplishments can also be added.
Dxers keep score by their country counts and we have a DX "Brag" page on the web. Check it over and make sure your count is there and up to date.
The value of web site content is determined by the members and those who frequently access it. In general what is important is generic information about the club, its organization and purpose. It is also an opportunity to introduce our members to those visitors who may be interested in our organization. I also think that photographic records of our social activities and special meetings has value if only archival in nature. We are a long standing organization here in South Florida with a lot of history and many great DXer members. Just take a look at the SK page - We have had a lot of great friends and contributors.
So my plea is to send me feedback on content, what you like, what could be eliminated. Note errors and omissions, and what you would like to see included. Remember ideas about additions also require support - Adding information to the site is manageable, but having to the do the search for info or act as the "reporter" quickly escalates the task and makes it difficult to keep it fresh and meaningful. In this respect I need your help to make it work.
The best things are generic in nature, long lasting in value and meaningful to the club or hobby. Items that change frequently are a pain, and can usually be found more directly from Google or direct receipt from the sources, such as DX bulletins and DX-pedition information.
So please give this request some thought, gather up pictures of your station and some stats and forward them to me and I shall try to implement them in a timely way.
Regards,
