[South Florida DX Association] Charitable Mileage deduction

Hi Everyone,

The US Senate is considering a bill which would increase the deductible mileage amount from 14 cents per mile to 55 cents. Many amateur radio operators volunteer their time & vehicles in support of charitable organizations such as ARRL & Red Cross. Passage of this bill will assist those volunteers who use their vehicles in this manner. I have attached a sample letter to Senator Bill Nelson who is on the Senate finance committee considering this bill. Please modify the text as you see fit, sign & fax the letter to Senator Nelson. I would also appreciate your faxing a copy of the letter to our ARRL Washington representative, John Chwat, who will follow thru with Senator Nelson. John's fax number is 703-684-7594. I realize this is not strictly amateur radio legislation, however passage of this bill will greatly assist our many dedicated ham radio volunteers. Should you have any questions, just let me know.
