I agree sunspots or not, there is a lot of DX to be worked. Last years (2008) CQ Marathon score was 265+40Z, and this year was even better. Still missed at least 5 or 6 that was heard but could not break the Euro wall. It is a fun activity and does stimulate getting on the air. It will be even better/easier once ten meters opens for us.

Hmmm I just did my cq marathon query from DXBASE even that we are on the
bottom part of the new cycle. still managed to do 122 countries and almost
40 zones. cant wait until we actually get some sun spots.
