[South Florida DX Association] Reverse Beacon Network

Hi Peter,
There is a subtlety here with respect to the use of the term "reverse
beacons", but you are exactly correct. Go to:
http://www.dxwatch.com/
and select the mapping option. All that is going on is that the spots
are being plotted on a map. It is actually interesting to view the spots
in that fashion. It helps to visualize propagation in the various bands.
The dxwatch.com map resembles the maps that have been produced in DX
Sherlock for the 10m, VHF and UHF bands, see:
http://www.vhfdx.info/spots/map.php?Lan=E&Frec=AL2&Map=W2L&mycall=&myloc=&freq=&prop=
DX watch has another option that I find very useful: The spots can be
set up so that [LOTW] is displayed automatically in the "obs" column for
DX that are LOTW users. I'm not sure where he gets that data, but it is
very likely that it comes from HB9BZA's LOTW resource page:
http://www.hb9bza.net/lotw/
I find the VHF stuff at www.vhfdx.info/spots an interesting way to
visualize sporadic E propagation on 6m, and I find the "LoTW" user
notation at www.dxwatch.com very helpful.
