VK9L, LORD HOWE ISLAND (Update). 
 
Members of Oceania Amateur Radio DX Group Inc. (ODXG) will spend 10 days on
Lord Howe Island for the 2009 CQ WPX Contest. 
 
The operation will take place between March 24th and April 3rd (2009). 
 
They have applied for the VK9LA callsign. Lord Howe Island is currently
listed on the 2007 wanted countries list at 80, but the team expects that
when the 2008 wanted list is released it will be somewhere around 65 or so. 
 
Operators mentioned are: San/K5YY, Stan/SQ8X, Peter/SQ8DIE, Victoria/SV2KBS,
Chris/VK3QB, John/VK4IO, Catherine/VK4VCH, Chris/VK5CP, John/VK5PO,
Sara/VU3RSB, Bill/VK4FW and one more YL (to be announced). 
 
Activity will be active on all bands 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY.
They intend to have 6 stations on air utilizing a massive antennae system
which includes a 3 element monoband yagis, quarter wave verticals, top
loaded verticals as well as wires slung from the
huge pine trees in a 2 acre area.
