Norm,
I'm responding, not to clarify the DXpedition, but to express just how
unequivocally rude you can be to allow your feelings towards a few folks in
this club to transgress your behavior and attempt to characterize "most" of
the club's constituents. Recognizing you did, at least, say, "mostly."
Bruce's original comment was, "And just what makes this a DXpedition?" We
all know you have a passion for DX and DX/Contesting. I believe you were the
founder of SFDXA and are currently an officer of some title. That and many
other attributes offer considerable credit for your opinion on what is or is
not a DXpedition. Stick to it and save the senseless rhetoric of the club
for a private conversation with someone. As the 80/20 rules is applied, I
spend the vast majority of my time talking outside the US and not from, "the
shack on my belt."

Bruce,
This is not a DXpedition, at best it is an ham radio demonstration during a
planned recognition of the Kennedy compound or Bunker set up there during
his presidency. It is the work of a Jupiter Repeater group (who have no
idea what DX is or means) that have been promoting this as DX, collecting
rather large sums of contributions. They did operate from the island a
while back and have a US Island designation (not IOTA recognized however).
It is a joke, and surprisingly they have the League PR guy sucked into
endorsing this spectacle. Not sure how, but they got him to publicize it.
It is because this repeater group is made up of mostly "Shack on the belt"
hams, who have no operating experience on HF, and if they do DX means
talking to someone in NY or TX.

And just what makes this a DXpedition? What foreign country is this?
