If you have 400w or more on 6m and a yagi antenna (elevation rotor not needed), please see below. If you are not familiar with EME operating procedure, I'd be happy (work and family schedule permitting) to go to your shack and help out, or to talk you through it via phone.
Available windows in south Florida (UTC):
8/19 1000-1130
8/20 1113-1245
8/21 1218-1347

Subject: [50mhz] EX8MLT/EX7MW in MN82re update
To: Magic Band EME Group <magic at 6meme.com>,
I was contacted by Oleg and Mike asking for more stations to call them. If you are a
6m DXer, this is probably the best chance you will have for many more years to work
EX! They have a very quiet location and are hearing and working many stations on 6m
using JT65A mode via EME. Remember, they always XMIT in the first minute, and they
are QRV on 50.200 whenever their moon is below 45 degrees elevation. Their ground
gain seems especially good between about 6 and 15 degrees elevation Unless you hear
otherwise, assume that they are using Oleg's call - EX8MLT. IW5DHN reports that when
he worked them this morning, they were -19 dB and audible in the speaker!
Conditions are improving every day this week, but their moonrise and moonset over the
lake are the best earlier in the week. So, please spread the word to anyone who has
not already worked EX on 6m not to delay and that this is the perfect chance!
If you would like to ask them questions or try to set up something with them at some
other time, Mike asks that you try to contact him on MSN, ICQ or SKYPE, as explained
on his website:
http://6meme.ex7mw.com/
You can try to email them, but their internet and email service is not as reliable as
the other means, which are by portable telephone. If you do not have those services,
or are not sure when you have common moon on the horizon with them, please email me
and I will be happy to try to help you. GL and VY 73, Lance
