Many of you may be moving your DXBASE logs to a new application as DXBase has announce it will no longer be supported. One program I am using and recommend is the DXLAB Suite of applications with DXKEEPER being the logging program. The following is an exchange from a new user and the author Dave AA6YQ is worth noting for those making the change over.
additional comment:
Key to success is first - export DXBASE into a ADIF file, the IMPORT into DXKEEPER - as noted in the email exchange some errors may creep in, and should be cleaned up.
The point of this email is to draw your attention to the LoTW update manuever - This process will correct many elements of your DXBASE records, such as county name. BUT you must tell it to overwrite, not just add them in.
DXLAB has a lot of configuration modes and flexibility in formatting the various displays. It may take some time to find the combination that you like.
Of importance to me was the online documentation (it is extensive) and the ONLINE support from users and the author on the DXLab reflector.
Note the last comment from Dave - before doing anything with your log database, be sure to BACK IT UP. I have a separate drive for Back Ups and do it daily, or any time I play with configuration changes.

Norm W4QN

Subject: [dxlab] LoTW Importing
I have a question that I can't seem to find in the help files.
I have imported over 50,000 QSO's from DXBASE into dxlab. All went
well, few errors, but data errors not dxlab errors.
But the next thing I did was download from the ARRL LOTW website an adif
file will (with?) the new QSL's received.
I imported them in to DXLAB but instead of updating the existing records
with the date and changing the received LOTW flag to Y, I got duplicate
records?
>>>Yes, that's correct: you directed DXKeeper to import an ADIF file,
evidently without duplicate checking enabled, so it did so. However, this
isn't what you had in mind.
>>>In DXKeeper, updating logged QSOs to reflect their confirmation via LotW
is referred to as "synchronizing QSLs", and is accomplished by setting the
"QSL Via" panel to LotW on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab and then
clicking the "Sync LotW QSLs" button. The latter operation directs LotW to
report all newly-confirmed QSOs; for each such confirmation, DXKeeper
locates the QSO in your log and updates it to reflect the confirmation via
LotW. This is described in
<http://www.dxlabsui te.com/dxkeeper/ Help/QSL. htm#QSLing via LotW>
but I recommend starting with
<http://www.dxlabsui te.com/dxkeeper/ Help/QSL. htm>
and then skipping over the section on hardcopy and eQSL confirmation if
those aren't of immediate interest.
>>>A step-by-step procedure for configuring DXKeeper to interoperate with
LotW is provided in
<http://www.dxlabsui te.com/dxlabwiki /ConfigureLotW>
>>>and a step-by-step procedure for synchronizing QSLs is provided in
<http://www.dxlabsui te.com/dxlabwiki /DownloadLotW>
>>>If you have questions or concerns about synchronizing QSLs with LotW,
don't hesitate to post them here.
>>>Hopefully, you created a log backup before importing the ADIF file
generated by LotW, and so can revert to this backup and proceed to
synchronize with LotW.

Dave, AA6YQ
