The thirteen check-ins at tonights SFDXA net included:W4PJ,W3AZD,N1AJV,NZ5N,WB3ANE,W4OV,N8PR,AI4BG,KJ4CBA,KI4WDQ,KI4IQZ,N4IEW AND W4EMM.-that's an increase of 3 from last week...

Topics and discussions presented at this session included: the use of an "antenna stretcher" to obtain more bandwith on a dipole; the new sighting of eleven(11) sun-spots; participation at the U. of Miami picnic with the Dade  free-flea; 60 meter band opening and a qso to the Isle of Mann; working dx using a hand-held unit ;where to use/practice cw to increase speed/confidence and how a donation of radio accessories is to be distributed to a needy ham.....Many different subjects and interesting comments by the group....

About a year and a half ago ,after retiring,I decided become an active ham radio operator.I attended the Cy Harris Free Flea and purchased several items that I still use today.I bought these items at a good/fair price and walked away with the satisfaction that I had made a good purchase...This Saturday,April 25 at the Collins Center,3900 NE 3rd Avenue in Oakland Park,the Cy Harris Free Flea will be held. I'll be there...I'll look over the goods;see what I can use; barter; see fellow hams I havent seen in a while;meet hams I've talked to on the air for the first time;have a cup of coffee,etc,etc ect.Its a fun time for me...If you attend it'll be a fun time for you.

The next dinner meeting will be held on May 6;hope to see you there...
