I just got this note from Don, and I am sure he would not mind my forwarding
it to the club. Looks like he got married again, and is living in "ham
heaven" with no noise or above ground power lines. I bet we hear him opn
the air again, soon !!

Mister Pete!!
Nice to hear from you!!
Yes... I retired on July 1st 2008 from NBC/GE and moved outta town!!
A few years ago XYL Gabrielle suggested Texas, when I said we needed to
start thinking about a retirement QTH... She had two suggestions, but the
first one was right on I-35, and I told her I didn't want to be within 30
miles of an Interstate Corridor!!
I checked out the second suggestion, we flew out here in 2006, found this
house and counted down 700+ days until we could be permanent!!
Quiet town... Just big enough about 10K... Very nice people... Founded
by Germans in 1846... We are on two acres 4 miles west of town. Quiet,
very dark at night!!
Congratulations on your "near" retirement!! Always good to leave your past
clients in good hands... You don't know when they will need you again!!
Sweet looking RV and I assume there is a rolling shack to provide counties
to the deserving!! Nice pix...
I brought 100 feet of Rohn 25 with me, and shortly I will be getting that
stuff in the air. The R7 is here and the location is very quiet... It
helps to have no neighbors, and underground power to the house from the
pole!!
The last few months there went rather crazy, with packing and work and
packing and work... You know the drill... No time for anything else!!
Later M.P.
