SFDXA MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

The next meeting of the South Florida DX Association will be held on
Wednesday evening, November 5, at the Florida Medical Center (FMC)
Auditorium in Lauderdale Lakes (West Oakland Park Blvd. adjacent to the
Florida Turnpike). Members and guests will gather at 6:00pm for our
bi-monthly fixed-price dinner ($7 per person). As usual, our meeting and
program will begin at 7:33pm.

Our featured program this month will be the recently released 3B7C video of
the Five Star DXers DXpedition to St. Brandon in September, 2007. The Five
Star team made an incredible 137,500 QSOs during their visit. This video
shows what is needed to accomplish such a feat. Don't miss it!

I am pleased to announce the interim appointment of Rich Pratt (K4XF) as
SFDXA Secretary. Rich takes over these responsibilities from Gil (W1RG) who
recently resigned.

This is just a reminder that nominations for 2009 SFDXA officer and Board of
Director positions will be accepted at our meeting on November 5. Any FULL
member of SFDXA is eligible to hold any one of these elected positions.
Please think about serving your fellow members in 2009.

Also, since our November meeting will be the last formal SFDXA meeting held
in 2008, you may pay your 2009 SFDXA dues at the November meeting if you
wish avoid mailing them in during the holiday season.

Our club is looking for one or more net control stations to run our 2-meter
SFDXA net on Wednesday evenings. Please contact me if you wish to volunteer.
