I wish I could, Pete. Then I'd put up a 40/80 loop or modified dipole (Z).
But, alas and alack, I (we) are not permitted access to the roof per
Association By-Laws and CC&R's. (Association insurance liability.) Yes, one
side of the antenna is adjacent to the walls of the unit.

it on all sides.  That does not work. The metal will absorb the RF and give
you very little radiated RF.
