SFDXA MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT
The next meeting of the South Florida DX Association will be held on
Wednesday evening, March 5, at the Florida Medical Center (FMC) Auditorium
in Lauderdale Lakes (Oakland Park Blvd. adjacent to the Florida Turnpike).
Members and guests will gather at 6:00pm for our bi-monthly fixed-price
dinner ($7 per person). As usual, our meeting and program will begin a
7:33pm.
Our featured program this month will be the just-released video of the 2007
Scarborough Reef DXpedition. Scarborough Reef, aka "Scaffold Reef", is an
extremely difficult location from which to operate and among the world's
rarest DX entities. This high quality narrated video was produced by James
Brooks, 9V1YC, who also produced other videos (3Y0X, FT5XO) that were viewed
during recent SFDXA meetings. Don't miss it!
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Hope Smith, WB3ANE, as the new
SFDXA membership chair. Hope has been a long time SFDXA member and has over
275 countries confirmed on 10 meters. Please contact Hope if you need SFDXA
membership information.
SFDXA continues to grow! Those of you who are FULL members of SFDXA will be
asked to approve the application of Al Maslin (N3EA) for full membership in
SFDXA.
The next Cy Harris W4MAQ Free Flea is scheduled for March 29 in Oakland
Park. If any SFDXA members have any functioning ham equipment or accessories
(no boat anchors or small parts please) that they wish to donate to SFDXA
for sale by SFDXA at this Free Flea, please email a list of your proposed
donations to me (n4ru at arrl.net) no later than March 9 in order to enable
advance coordination.
I look forward to seeing each of you on March 5th at FMC.
73,
Ray - N4RU
SFDXA President
