Here is a fellow who takes model airplanes pretty seriously -- he built a
remote-control 4-engine B-29 bomber, with a wingspan that looks to be
perhaps 25 feet. Not only does his 7-minute YouTube video show him
take-off/fly/land the B-29, but mid-flight he releases a scale model of the
X-1 rocket plane from under the bomber's wing, the X-1 fires its rocket,
flys, glides, loops, rolls, and lands as well. Then the B-29 is
(intentionally) put into a nasty spin and the "pilots" eject, but all ends
well as he recovers, does an amazing upside-down pass over the field at
about 10-feet, and comes in for the smoothest landing ever. Pretty darn
cool models, and some awesome flying.
