[South Florida DX Association] March 2008 Swan Island eme/ms DXpedition - EK87

I've just signed up for the HQ8R Swan Island
DXpedition planned for March 14 through March 22 from
grid EK87, see

The Honduran government plans to turn the island into
a penal colony, so this may be the last time Swan will
be active.

I'll be working mainly VHF with Boyd, HR9BFS, who
plans to operate 2m eme/ms with his TS-2000
transceiver, an LA-22 amp he has on order, and a
2MXP32 antenna.  He has also ordered an ACOM 1000 for
6m.

The amps are proving to be problematic, however.  It
seems that Lunar Link is having trouble obtaining
finals from Eimac, and his LA-22 is far from certain
to be ready on time.  The ACOM is also on back order,
and Boyd is attempting to arrange a direct shipment
from Bulgaria.

The HF bands 160-10 will also be covered, CW, SSB, and
digital.

Does anyone have a high power 6m or 2m amp we can
borrow (or perhaps purchase) for the DXpedition if
Boyd's amps do not arrive on time?

Does anyone have a checklist of things to take for a
successful event?  Or any other tips?
