[South Florida DX Association] ARRL Southeastern Division Letter

Dear ARRL Members,

I want to thank you for your confidence and vote allowing me to be your
ARRL Southeastern Division Director.  It makes me proud to represent
you in this capacity!

This will be an exciting and educational year for me.  I just returned
from the ARRL headquarters in Newington CT for an orientation.  This
was a quick review of many facets of the ARRL.  I met and talked with
many of the ARRL workers and learned more about what they do.  All the
ARRL folks I met are knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic about
their jobs. W1AW is always a joy to visit and operate.  

Next week I will attend the Annual ARRL Board of Directors meeting in
Houston TX.  I've already been reading meeting information and
committee reports to get ready for this big meeting.  

There are many very fine clubs, groups and Hamfests in the Southeastern
Division. I look forward to attending many Hamfests and club meetings,
and meeting many of you! I know it is not possible for me to attend all
club meetings, Hamfests and meet each of you, however I do look forward
to making new acquaintances and renewing old ones as I travel around
the Southeastern Division. 

We are fortunate to have many first-rate amateurs that are doing many
excellent activities and putting on some of the best Amateur Radio
events and Hamfest in the Nation.  Your Public Service support is
tremendous!  Keep a check on your Section web page, QST and the ARRL
web page for information.  Remember to send your Section Manger, QST
and me information about your Amateur Radio activities.

Considering attending Hamfests.  Are you an expert or knowledgeable in
a particular facet of Amateur Radio? Why not share your expertise with
others by asking to conduct a forum at a Hamfest?!  Check your club and
Section web page and the ARRL http://www.arrl.org/hamfests.html for a
complete list and up-to-date Hamfest information in your area.

Amateur Radio needs your help, get on-the-air, participate in public
service events and support your local club! Make your plans now to
attend and support as many of the Southeastern Division Hamfests, club
meetings, events and Field Day that you can.

Have fun, try something different and introduce someone new to Amateur
Radio this year!
