Hi y'all--
We now have all the antennas up at FMC and I will be taking my Icom 756 PRO
up for a CW rig next weekend. (has a separate receive input for 160 and CW
narrow filters which Ed's TS940 does not have). I am still not sure if we
will have internet service. I am taking up the AMD Atholon 2200+ with XP
Pro that Dave Novoa has donated to the club. I hope that we can find a
free wifi somewhere in range. Also have the IBM laptop running DOS and CT
for logging and sending CW from the (f) keys.
All we need now is a few operators who want to help us get a few new ones
for DXCC and find a few Q's to make a decent score. Not looking to go
crazy... I want this to be more fun than work, even if it is CQWW.
Please let me know if you can make it even for a few hours... we have slots
open day and night.
So far N4QV and N8PR are committed to operating.
Oh, if you are wondering... we have inverted vees at 100+ feet on 160 and
80, vees for 40 & 30 at about 90 ft, and the TH-11 at ~ 100 feet. That
should let us be heard with the Icom + SB-220. Will run barefoot this time
on 160, but we should be able to pick off some good mults with 100 watts.
Also a receive loop temporarily taped to the phillystran guys for 160
receive.
Any Takers??? Let me know ASAP.
Thanks to all the members who have helped get the station back on its feet
after Wilma. It has been a long, tedious job as some of you know.
