The bottom of the cycle is over and the DX season is starting...!

30 Members and Guests Attended last nights South Florida DX Club Meeting.

After many had dinner from 6 to 6:30 the DX bragging was under way.

Ray N4RU got the meeting going at 7:33 but half the members were up in the
Club Station while Pete N8PR gave a tour. hi The meeting began a few minutes
after the group came and everyone had a good laugh.

A short meeting of business took place but the highlight was when Marty
KI4IQZ presented The Hillsboro Lighthouse Award to Pete Rimmel N8PR for his
outstanding work at organizing and carrying out a station at the Hillsboro
Light house. The Coast Guard and the Preservation Society had a Special
Event for Arborist Day.

The other clubs in the area felt the event never would have been the success
it was if Pete had not put it all together on short notice. The ARRL has run
pictures on the website. Many young and old got to experience Ham Radio for
the first time. It was a big success...thanks Pete!

Committee and various reports were given at the meeting and also the
Officers for the club were Nominated for next year as follows.
Ray N4RU - President
Norm W4QN - Vice-President
Gil W1RL - Secretary
Bruce W4OV - Treasurer

Quite a few were nominated to serve on the Board and those will be in a run
off in a mailed ballot. These names will be sent to the reflector as soon as
I have them all. I want to make sure I do not leave anyone off the list.

The FT5XO video was shown and it turned out to be one of the better DX
Videos we had seen.

Meeting adjourned about 9.

The DX Season has begun! At least in South Florida it has.
