A tremendous effort by 10 SFDXA Club Members today went a long way to
getting the tower up and ready for the new repeater antenna.
Pete trailered the new tower sections to the Hospital and we all met at the
hospital at 10 AM. We offloaded the 90 ft of damaged tower off the roof and
then hauled all the new tower sections up to the roof as well as the new
antennas.
Elliott did the climbing and we got 4 tower sections up. Our next effort
will be in the next few weeks when we will put the guy wires in place and
the remaining sections. We will install the new StationMaster for 2 meters.
Then we will assemble the new TH11DX for the new club station antenna and
put that on the HF tower
Thanks to Pete N8PR, Elliott KB2TZ, Kappy WA4WTG, Joe W2JG, Gil W1RG, Scott
W4PJ, Don W3AZD, Steve W4DTA, & Bruce W4OV. Also thanks to Brian NY4PD who
helped locate the needed tower sections.
Look for pictures of the project soon on the website www.qsl.net/k4fk .
