[South Florida DX Association] FCC Proposes new rules

Seams like this subject is wasting a lot of bandwidth, but I got a good
laugh when I first read the story. I'm 100% with you Bruce. I believe Norm
posted it to give us all a chuckle, you to the bait and then Mike and Bill
got together to pull your leg.

Here are my reasons for feeling it is no more than a joke:
1. What happened to the procedure whereby the FCC posts a "Notice of
proposed Rule making" and requests comments within some designated time?
2. The statement that the new rule would go into effect on "April first"
(and without a year stated) is a dead give away that this is a fake Release.
Furthermore the whole Release has so many words and phrases that are not in
keeping with the style used by the FCC .
3. The Docket # 200-4U matches the proposed number of words to be spoken
per minute and the "4U indicates that it's meant to be four licensed
amateurs.
4. No where is it stated that the speed of CW must be increased to a new
minimum speed.
5. The FCC has much more fist to fry than to worry about the speed of how
fast 75 meter ops talk.
6. Bill, I'm surprised to hear your listing to Howard Stern. Are you sure
it wasn't on Sesame Street?

Any body else want to join in. I'm anxious to hear more comments.

73, & DX

Leon, (K2EWB)
