WORLDBEAT - SRI LANKA: NO GUESTS OPS AND NO HAM GEAR INTO THAT COUNTRY
If you are planning to visit Sri Lanka soon, you had best leave all of
your ham gear at home.
The WIA News reports that hams planning to travel to Sri Lanka have to
bother to put in application for a Guest Operator License. None are being
issued at this time.
Also, ham radio equipment and even satellite phones are not being
permitted to be brought into Sri Lanka for the foreseeable future. All of
these restrictions are reportedly due to security concerns. (WIA News)
