For those who mentioned John Bolduc in Orange City, here is a summary of
replys regarding him, sorry to say he is overloaded with work.
:
For those FCG members who have asked about radio repairs,
Check John Bolduc in Orange City, near Orlando. He is a radio magician.

He was REAL FAIR with me and Doc and should know that he is gaining a
good rep with the 200 members of the Florida Contest Group ... THAT'S
ALOT OF RADIOs TO KEEP HIM BUSY !

Yes Bruce Their is a good one in Orange City Fl close by you. I send all
my radios and Amps to him for repair. His call is KI4NR.

John Bolduc, KI4NR,
lpcwireless at cfl.rr.com
Phone 386-774-9921
does a great job. He is slow, but reasonable on charges. He fixed a
Field that AES refused to service and an old Kenwood TS-940SA for me.
Both are working OK.

John Bolduc repaired a pair of TS-930S transceivers for me last year. He
did an excellent job at a fair price. However, when I called him early this
year I got no response.
His telephone number was (386) 774-9921.
Reply from John KI4NR:
Right now I am backlogged with work & cannot accept any new
repairs at this time.I have taking in all the radios I can handle
for the next 4 to 6 weeks. I hate to turn down work, but I am
only one person and there is only so much I can do.
Please try some of the other highly rated shops on Eham to see
how there work load is.

Here are the other comments regarding other places to try.:

Icom now has a service center in South Carolina. They just repaired my
Icom 756 Pro ..fixed the pass band tuning apparatus and auto tuner for
under $150. I got the address from Icom's web site.

If anyone suggests International Radio Service Division in
Ft. Pierce http://www.qth.com/irsd/ *RUN* the opposite direction!
Turn around is terrible, communication is non-existent and the
work was not of the expected quality.

Amateur Electronic Supply (AES) has a store with technician at:
800-327-1917
407-894-3238 AES Orlando, FL
621 Commonwealth Ave
Orlando, FL 32803
Nice people, too.

Only one I personally know of is AES (http://www.aesham.com/ ). Their rates
are pricey but am unaware of any others in the immediate area.

Having tried International Radio Service in Ft. Pierce, and NOT being
satisfied, I am looking for the same information, so please post your reply
to Bruce to the reflector.

Have you tried CHris VE3NGW? He is near FMC off Oakland Park Blvd. He does
some rig repair, though he does better with Icom than Kenwood. His number
is 954-298-2666 or ck at radio.net

Bob Broaderick who used to work at Eli's Amateur Radio as their tech is
still in Ft. Lauderdale. I believe he is an authorized Icom and Kenwood
tech and has done work for me before and I never had any problems.

The phone number I have for him is 954-524-6051. His email is
hamradio at bellsouth.net. I hope this helps you out.

If I get more info I will forward.
