* Further Comments:
*
We understand that a "dxpedition" as part or condition for a
hamfest will be slightly different to a standard dxpedition. Due to the
expected number of VU4 stations (all in all about 30 incl. ours) and
that most operation sites (hotels) are close situated we expect a
serious interference situation. We have given special attention to this
and are prepared beside that we are not bound to specific hotels due to
local knowledge and local contacts (I have checked the local situation
in november 2005). Furthermore VU3RSB will help with his local contacts
and experiences of the 2004 VU4 dxpedition. To make his participation
possible it is necessary that the team supports him due to the high
expenses (tickets and so on) considering that his monthly salary is only
at an average of 180 USD. The main emphasis of the operation is to
provide the ham community with a higher number of CW contacts because
the recent 2004 dxpedition could not fullfil the demand. Special
attention will be given to the lower bands considering the actual condx
but the difficult path to NA too because of the US operators of the group.
*
I would like to point to pay attention to the hamfest too and not
only the operations. All group members are requested to provide the
hamfest with articles and/or lectures. Attending Indian government
authorities of highest level will be watching the hamfest and foreign dx
activities. It will be essential to give them a good show and to support
the undergoing process of change in Indian ham rules which finally
will/can end in liberalisation and a permanent opening of VU4 but VU7 too.
We are sure that we can provide the ham community with a high number of
qso´s but to make the hamfest a success too and therefore would like to
request for your support.
