Subject: [GreenKeys] Various items for sale
Gentlemen,
I am cleaning out (as suggested by SWMBO) and have available a number of
teletype related items that may be of interest to readers of the GreenKeys
list. They are being offered here first for the benefit of the members of
this great list. Any items not sold after a short period will be listed on
that popular auction site.
The gear below was purchased new and used only by me (except where noted
otherwise) at my former location in New Jersey and here in California
through the early 1990s. Some of you may remember that I was active in
APLink and WinLink and helped Vic Poor, W5SMM, write and debug that fine
software. Anyway, my WinLink system was taken off the air about ten years
ago; the gear has been stored inside ever since. I cant easily test any of
it now so youd better consider everything in as-is condition. All
suggested prices are plus packing and shipping, unless you pickup, of
course.

5. HAL ARQ1000 Error Correction Terminal:

mailbox. This is only a code converter (TOR to/from ASCII or Baudot) - data
in and out; no audio; it needs an external TU.
Complete with original manual. s/n 108 $50
6. HAL CT2200 Communications Terminal:
This is an early 'glass TTY'. The internal TU has performance like an
ST-5, perfect for use with your local VHF RTTY repeater. This unit started
life as a CT-2100 and was later upgraded. Unit requires an external video
monitor, standard NTSC 75 ohm. I have but one cant ship it. If youre in

*** PICKUP ONLY - San Francisco bay area.
HAL DS3100 System, c/o DS3100 ASR Video Display Terminal, MSO3100 Message
Storage Option, MPT3100 Message Processing Terminal, DSK3100 Disk Storage
and RMX-3100:
The DS3100 (s/n 758) c/o a 12" green CRT (DV3000) bolted atop the
keyboard/electronics package; the MSO3100 and MPT3100 are installed
internally. The DSK3100 (s/n 182) and RMX3100 (s/n 104) are in separate 3
1/2" rack mount cabinets. A DS3100 is the last and best electronic RTTY
terminal prior to the use of personal computers. This is the system I
installed in New Jersey in 1982 for the use of Vic Poor, W5SMM, while he was
sailing the Atlantic. That experience inspired APLink, the predecessor to
WinLink.
A complete set of original manuals is included. I think I can locate
most of the original cables. A floor stand with custom terminal board is
included.
*** Pick up only, SFO bay area. $500 OBO
Teletype Dataspeed Model 40 Line Printer:
This is a real line printer - also called a band printer. The type
pallets ride in a band that rotates at high speed over the entire paper
width (~15"); there is a fixed hammer at each of the 132 character positions
that strikes as the correct character comes flying by. This printer is the
132 column version (40P202) in a table-top cabinet that measures 22" W by 8
5/16" H by 14 7/32" D and weighs in at 56 pounds. The data interface is
serial, RS-232 like. I had it working several years ago and it is a sight
to behold - as noisy as it is big and heavy! The ultimate heavy metal!
Complete with volumes I and II of the 1980 Printer Shop Manual. I also
have a Radio Shack printer floor stand for it to sit on, a box of 132 column
sprocket feed paper and a box and a half of ribbons.
*** Pick up only, SFO bay area. I will consider donating this beast to a
museum or other non-profit organization. Best Offer, especially attractive
if you come and get it and take it to a good home.
Pictures of most items are available at
http://www.on-sitetraining.com/greenkeys . They are in somewhat large ZIP
files (3-6 MB) so check before you download.
