Pete N8PR, Elliott KB2TZ, Gil W1RG and myself were up on the hospital roof
this morning.

As most of you may know the club lost the 90 ft tower holding the antennas
for the repeater and Sedan during Hurricane Wilma. The tower came down and
fell along the upper wall of the roof. Nothing else was damaged fortunately.
Elliott's best guess was that the phillystran on the west side failed at the
turnbuckles. The tower and all antennas were completely destroyed and
nothing could be salvaged except a few clamps.

We cut the 90 ft Club Tower apart and piled things on the roof for a later
party. We are looking for sections of Rohn 25 and we may have enough to put
the tower up in the near future..

We will send a note out in some weeks about progress towards putting a new
tower back up when all the parts are in hand.

Elliott climbed the HF tower and placed a temporary Comet X-30 on the arm
that held the dipole. It worked first try. Pete tried it out on his trip
north this morning and it appears to have almost the same range as before.

The TH-6 has lost elements and traps and looks like it will have to be
replaced.

But for now we have the repeater up and running and plans are in place for a
new one. Look for an update at the Club meeting on December 14th.

I took pictures and will send them to Bruce so he can get them on the SFDXA
website. www.qsl.net/k4fk Look for them when Bruce sends out a message to
the club.
